Mayor Flowers attended a special ribbon cutting Friday at the Dutchess County Empowerment Center, a free, accessible resource center, open to adults at any stage of their substance use or mental health recovery journey.
The Empowerment Center is located at 230 North Road (entrance 3) in Poughkeepsie, and people can get support from recovery coaches and peers in a non-traditional, non-clinical setting as well as connections to resources, including healthcare, housing, benefits and employment.
The center also features a Community Garden, a partnership with Eden Share, to add to the positive activities for people seeking assistance at the facility. You can learn more about the empowerment center here
