Un centro de industria y vida en Poughkeepsie
Durante gran parte del siglo XX, este complejo de construcciones industriales situado en la intersección de Parker Ave., Garden Street and Brookside Ave. tuvo un gran impacto en la ciudad. Entre 1932 y 2002, fue sede de la Standard Gage Company, fábrica de instrumentos de medición precisa. *UPDATE 12/10/24: The lot across from 58 Parker Ave. is temporarily closed. When the lot RE-OPENS (SUMMER OF 2025) it will be available to everyone on weekends. This location is being utilized by construction teams who are making improvements to the old factory across the street (58 Parker Ave.) — which is transforming into a new community space, as well as work space for Scenic Hudson (a local non-profit environmental organization based in Poughkeepsie since 1979). Scenic Hudson owns the property and is raising funds to complete the project. Their office will be in the buildings, but much of the land around as well as functions within the building will be a space designed for and open to the public.

We foresee attracting traffic to neighborhood businesses from people enjoying nearby trails as well as other organizations or commercial functions that could operate out of the space. The Northside Hub at 58 Parker Ave. is collaborating with the Sendero Urbano project on street improvements that may include new crosswalks, landscaping, and measures to slow vehicles down and make streets safer for pedestrians and people on bicycles. New pedestrian and bike access routes will also make travel more convenient for residents, business owners, and visitors. In addition, this project will bring over 60 people to the Northside during the work week who will frequent local businesses.
Will the Northside Hub at 58 Parker Ave make it easier to find parking?
