Dutchess County and the City of Poughkeepsie are undertaking the development of their five-year Consolidated Plans. The county and city are combining resources to conduct a joint public engagement process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The consolidated plan is an important strategic planning document as required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in order for Dutchess County to continue receiving approximately $1,561,100 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and $871,749 in HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funds annually for the next five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The City of Poughkeepsie anticipates receiving approximately $841,776 in CDBG funds annually for the next five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These resources finance affordable housing and community development activities for low- and moderate-income residents within Dutchess County and the City of Poughkeepsie in each respective jurisdiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The five-year consolidated plan provides the framework, informed by community input, to identify housing and community development priorities that align and focus funding toward the CDBG and HOME programs. The annual action plan will set forth the county\u2019s budget for funding selected activities in the first year of the five-year plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One element of this planning process involves outreach to residents, business owners, and community leaders for input on fair housing, affordable housing, economic development, and community development needs across Dutchess County and the City of Poughkeepsie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
