The state encourages compact, walkable downtowns as a way to rebuild the economy from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as achieve the state\u2019s climate goals by promoting the use of public transit and reducing dependence on private vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The city has created a brief survey\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cityofpoughkeepsie.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=e00eed7ef2bf4addeabf4b729&amp;id=ba08dd4038&amp;e=23d4a82ccf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">este enlace<\/a>\u00a0and asks for your input by Friday, Sept. 15, to aid in this application process.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The city will soon apply for $10 million in funds under the state\u2019s Downtown Revitalization Initiative program and is seeking public input to help shape that submission.
